The Syrian
government has reportedly sentenced a citizen journalist to death after he gave
a series of interviews to Al-Jazeera.
Mohammed
Abdelmawla al-Hariri was found guilty of "high treason and contacts with
foreign parties".
He was arrested
in April soon after speaking to Al Jazeera about the situation in Deraa.
Reporters Without Borders says it is shocked to learn
of the sentence and that the verdict is unacceptable.
