Facebook pages belonging to Syrian opposition deactivated

A number of Facebook pages belonging to Syrian opposition groups have been disabled recently by the social media website’s administration, accuses Syrian businessman Firas Tlass.

His profile page had become a platform for tens of thousands of Syrians, both supporters and opponents of Assad, to air their views on the ongoing crisis in the country.

In an interview with Al Arabiya’s Arabic website, Tlass said: “Facebook’s administration is not responding to us.”
